Boil Water Advisory Lifted for Customers in Shavertown

SCRANTON, Pa. (June 28, 2025) – Pennsylvania American Water announced this morning that the boil water advisory for customers in the Lantern Hill Development, Shavertown, has been lifted. Customers were notified on June 25 of a main break that affect a storage tank, resulting in the issuance of the boil water advisory. We are pleased to report that the issue has been resolved.

This notice applies to a customer population of approximately 50 along the following streets Shavertown:

• Lantern Hill Road
• Timber Grove Road
• Morgan Road

Acceptable test results were obtained from samples collected on June 26 and 27, and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has authorized lifting the advisory.

Pennsylvania American Water thanks its customers for their patience and cooperation during this event. Customers are encouraged to share this information with others in the affected areas listed above.
