Boil Water Advisory Lifted for Customers in portions in Cross Creek Township, Independence Township, Jefferson Township and West Middletown Borough in Pennsylvania American Water’s McMurray System
McMurray, Pa. (Aug. 5, 2025) – Pennsylvania American Water announced this morning that the boil water advisory for customers in portions of Cross Creek Township, Independence Township, Jefferson Township and West Middletown Borough has been lifted. Customers were notified on Aug. 2, 2025, of a water main break that caused a loss of positive water pressure, resulting in the issuance of the boil water advisory. We are pleased to report that the issue has been resolved.
This notice applies to approximately 310 customer connections in portions of Cross Creek, Independence, Jefferson Townships, and West Middletown Borough in Pennsylvania American Water’s McMurray system.
Acceptable test results were obtained from samples collected on Aug. 3, 2025, and Aug. 4, 2025, and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has authorized lifting the advisory.
