Press Releases
Kentucky American Water has announced an approximately $201,000 water main improvement project in the City of Millersburg in Bourbon County. As part of the company’s ongoing commitment to providing safe, clean and reliable water service, the company’s contractor will replace the water main on 4th St. in Millersburg located west of Main St.
This aging, cast iron water main will be replaced with new, ductile iron pipe as part of the company’s Qualified Infrastructure Program (QIP). This work will improve service reliability for customers by reducing service disruptions as well as by maintaining and improving water quality. In addition to replacing water mains, contractors will also replace fire hydrants, valves, meters and utility-owned service lines along
the route.
The company’s contractor crews plan to perform most work Monday through Friday between
8 a.m. to 6 p.m. as weather and other factors permit, with rolling progress made until all main is replaced. Final paving and other restoration of areas impacted by the project will follow.
To support the safety of the public and workers, traffic restrictions and/or alternating traffic patterns may occur during work hours. Kentucky American Water values the safety of its teams and advises drivers and pedestrians to reduce speed and use extra caution when traveling through work zones.
