Press Releases
To all customers of Indiana American Water Company: Please take note that on August 29, 2025, Indiana-American Water Company, Inc. (“Indiana American” or the “Company”) submitted revised tariffs pursuant to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission’s 30-day filing procedure set forth in 170 IAC 1-6 that establishes a Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (“PFAS”) Litigation Universal Surcredit (“PLUS”) to credit PFAS litigation settlement proceeds to customers of Indiana American.
Indiana American is proposing to credit customers, periodically following receipt by the Company, from proceeds from settlements pursued in multi-district litigation related to litigation with various manufacturers of PFAS and other chemicals multi-district litigation no. 2873 (“MDL”). Information about these settlements is available at https://www.pfaswatersettlement.com/.
The proposed PLUS credit will be calculated by dividing the total amount of the MDL proceeds to be credited through the periodic credit by the most recent active water customer count (consisting exclusively of all general water service and sale-for-resale customers).
Indiana American is proposing the revised tariff pages be effective no later than September 29, 2025. If you have any questions about this Notice please contact the Company at:
