Greenwood, Ind. – September 9 – The American Water Charitable Foundation, a philanthropic non-profit organization established by American Water (NYSE: AWK), the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., and Indiana American Water, announced today that the Foundation awarded a $10,000 State Strategic Impact grant to Russiaville Youth Baseball League that provides direct support to the program that brings together children from across the community and surrounding areas, fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and community pride.
“We are so grateful for the generous American Water Charitable Foundation grant that allowed us to purchase three brand-new scoreboards for our fields. These scoreboards will do more than track runs — they’ll light up with every big hit, every great play, and every cheer from the stands. As we prepare to celebrate 60 years of baseball in Russiaville next spring, these scoreboards will stand as a lasting symbol of the community spirit and generosity that has kept our league thriving for decades.” Said Taylor White, President, Russiaville Youth Baseball League. “On behalf of the Russiaville Youth Baseball League, we thank Indiana American Water for believing in our mission and helping us give our kids a place to play, grow, and belong."
The State Strategic Impact grant is part of the 2025 Keep Communities Flowing Grant Program, focusing on three pillars of giving: Water, People and Communities. State Strategic Impact grants support high-impact projects and initiatives in the communities it serves.
“At Indiana American Water, we believe that vibrant, inclusive communities are built through connection and opportunity,” said Barry Suits, President of Indiana American Water. “We’re proud to support the Russiaville Youth Baseball League and its more than 350 young athletes across spring and fall divisions. Investing in programs like this not only brings families together—it helps shape future leaders and strengthens the fabric of the communities we serve.”
“The American Water Charitable Foundation is proud to support organizations like the Russiaville Youth Baseball League that are making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families,” said Carrie Williams, President of the American Water Charitable Foundation. “This grant reflects our commitment to strengthening communities and creating opportunities for connection, growth, and shared pride.”
