ALEXANDRIA, VA – September 30, 2025 – Virginia American Water is proud to announce that its Prince William wastewater team received the Virginia Water Environment Association’s (VWEA) Collection Systems of the Year Award for Small Utilities at the annual WaterJAM 2025 Conference earlier this month.
“We are honored to receive this recognition from the Virginia Water Environment Association for our collection system operations,” said Ronald Cook, Prince William Manager of Operations. “This achievement is only possible due to the work of our industry-leading team that works day in and day out to keep our collection systems operating smoothly, delivering wastewater service for the residents of Dale City, where we proudly serve about 72,000 people.”
The VWEA Collection System of the Year awards honor utilities that demonstrate excellence in maintaining their collection systems. The recognition highlights effective use of labor, materials, equipment, and innovative practices that keep systems running reliably while reducing the risk of environmental harm, public health concerns, and property damage from sanitary sewer overflows in both wet and dry weather.
