DAVENPORT, IA – OCTOBER 8, 2025 — Iowa American Water, in collaboration with the American Water Charitable Foundation, a philanthropic non-profit organization established by American Water (NYSE: AWK), announced today that the Foundation awarded a $5,000 State Strategic Impact grant to the Quad Cities Community Foundation. Funding will support fire departments located within the company’s service areas, reinforcing our ongoing commitment to public safety and recognizing the vital role these departments play in protecting local communities.

The 2025 grant recipients include:
- Bettendorf Fire Department
- Blue Grass Fire Department
- Clinton Fire Department
- Davenport Fire Department
- Dixon Fire Department
- Donahue Fire Department
- LeClaire Fire Department
- Riverdale Fire Department
Each uniformed professional and volunteer fire department will receive a grant to help offset costs related to equipment and training. Eligible expenses include personal protective gear, communications equipment, firefighting tools, water handling equipment, and other materials or activities that support community fire protection efforts.
The State Strategic Impact Grant is part of the Foundation’s Keep Communities Flowing Grant Program, focusing on three pillars of giving: Water, People and Communities. These grants support high-impact projects and initiatives throughout American Water’s regulated footprint.
