Tennessee American Water Hosts Tennessee Public Utility Commission Leadership for Facility Tour and Regulatory Briefing
Commission leaders toured facilities and discussed infrastructure investments and EPA regulations

Chattanooga, TN – October 22, 2025 – Earlier this month, Tennessee American Water welcomed the Tennessee Public Utility Commission (TPUC) leadership including Chairman David Jones, Commissioner Robin Morrison and Executive Director Earl Taylor to the company’s Chattanooga facility. They were joined by Tennessee American Water leaders, including President Grant Evitts and Vice President of Operations Grady Stout. TPUC leaders were provided a tour of the facility and a briefing on various capital projects over the last decade as well as Tennessee American Water’s efforts to meet constantly evolving U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations.

“The Tennessee Public Utility Commission plays an important role in our efforts to deliver safe, clean, reliable, and affordable drinking water, providing Tennessee communities with the high-quality service that they expect and deserve” said Tennessee American Water President Grant Evitts. “We were pleased to welcome Commission leaders to our facility and provide a firsthand look at the investments we have completed in the last decade and those planned for the future.”

TPUC is the state agency responsible for setting the rates and service standards for privately owned telephone, natural gas, electric, water and wastewater utilities.

“Visits like these offer valuable insight into the infrastructure and dedicated personnel required to deliver essential water service every day,” said Tennessee Public Utility Commission Chairman David Jones. “We take seriously the responsibility entrusted to us to help ensure that regulated utilities remain responsive to the needs of their customers. Thank you to Tennessee American Water for welcoming us to their facility in Chattanooga.”
