Boil Water Order Issued in Village of Hardin

Customers should bring their tap water to a rolling boil for five minutes before using water for drinking or cooking.

Effective immediately, Illinois American Water has a issued a boil water order for customers in the Village of Hardin. The boil water order is being issued due to improvements at the water treatment plant in the village. During the boil water order, customers should bring their water to a rolling boil for five minutes before using water for drinking or cooking. Water is OK for bathing, washing, and other common uses. Pressure impacts are not expected.

After tests confirm the water samples meet all drinking water regulatory standards, customers in Hardin will receive a notification from Illinois American Water informing them the boil water order has been lifted. Customers are encouraged to help ensure contact information is up to date on their account through the online customer portal, MyWater.

The boil water order impacts approximately 400 direct water customers in the Village of Hardin.
