East Newark Volunteer Fire Department receives $1,000 donation through New Jersey American Water’s “Mayor's Charity of Choice” raffle
CAMDEN, N.J. – JULY 22, 2026 – New Jersey American Water donated $1,000 to the East Newark Volunteer Fire Department, a volunteer organization working tirelessly to protect the residents of East Newark, responding to emergencies and keeping the community safe day and night.
The Fire Department was selected as the beneficiary of this donation through New Jersey American Water's “Mayor's Charity of Choice” contest at the New Jersey Conference of Mayors, where East Newark Mayor Dina M. Grilo won a raffle giving her the chance to choose a local nonprofit to receive $1,000.
