Press Releases
CLINTON, IA – Oct 12, 2026 – Iowa American Water has completed the connection of the Low Moor water system to its Clinton water system, an important milestone that strengthens operational efficiency and supports reliable water service for customers in Low Moor. The connection allows water to be supplied through the Clinton system while integrating Low Moor into Iowa American Water's broader regional operations.
As part of the transition, Iowa American Water crews are flushing water mains and conducting additional water quality monitoring throughout the community to ensure a smooth startup and maintain water quality standards. Company operations, water quality and system control teams have coordinated the transition and will continue monitoring system performance in the coming weeks.
"This connection reflects our continued commitment to providing safe, clean, reliable water service to the communities we serve," said Brad Nielsen, President of Iowa American Water. "By integrating Low Moor with our Clinton water system, we are enhancing operational flexibility, strengthening system resiliency and leveraging the expertise and resources of a larger regional network to benefit our customers."
The project represents another step in Iowa American Water's ongoing efforts to invest in infrastructure, improve system reliability and deliver long-term value for customers. It also emphasizes Iowa American Water's commitment to helping Iowa communities address challenges with their water and wastewater systems.
"Water service is essential to daily life, economic development and community growth," Nielsen said. "We are proud to serve Low Moor and remain committed to making investments that help ensure reliable service today while preparing our systems and communities for the future."
Following the connection, crews will continue routine system flushing and collect chlorine residual samples throughout the distribution system as part of standard startup and monitoring procedures.
