American Water Provided 100 Gallons of Water to Local Residents at the Ben Franklin Bridge 100th Anniversary Celebration

American Water helped celebrate 100 years of the Ben Franklin Bridge – one of the Delaware Valley’s most iconic landmarks – by providing 100 gallons of water to event attendees. Local residents had the rare opportunity to walk across the bridge and experience music, food and activities along the way.

Vince, Supply Chain Analyst at American Water, helped distribute water to thousands of event-goers from American Water’s H2O on the Go Van. Vince was enthusiastic to educate the community about our company’s mission in this once-in-a-lifetime event and celebrate the Ben Franklin bridge alongside local residents. “Helping deliver 100 gallons of water to thirsty bridge celebrants made the event unique.” Another highlight for Vince was hearing from Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker and Camden Mayor Victor Carstarphen talk about how the bridge “represents a sense of connectedness.” The Ben Franklin Bridge connects Philadelphia and Camden, New Jersey – home to American Water’s headquarters.

Since 2018, American Water, New Jersey American Water and the American Water Charitable Foundation have collectively awarded nearly $9 million in charitable contributions to support impactful, community-centered initiatives to organizations supporting Camden residents. Read American Water’s 2025 Camden Community Investment Report here
