Our Stories

American Water is proud to call Camden, N.J. home. We have long believed in the importance of being a good corporate citizen, neighbor, and steward of the environment.
Since 2018, American Water, New Jersey American Water and the American Water Charitable Foundation have collectively awarded over $8 million in charitable contributions to the Camden community.
Additionally, American Water established the Camden Community Investment Committee to help educate and engage local stakeholders, the community and residents. This network of partners offers valuable feedback and provides oversight of the company’s efforts that support a successful partnership between American Water, the City of Camden and community-based organizations. Committee members meet twice a year to discuss initiatives that are centered around American Water’s focus on water and the environment, workforce development and community sustainability. American Water is privileged to collaborate with our neighbors to better understand the concerns, needs and expectations of the Camden community.

Above and beyond our charitable contributions, our employees actively give back in so many ways. In recent weeks, many employees have volunteered in Camden, with some of their contributions highlighted below.
