West Virginia American Water Invests $180,000 in East 4th Street Infrastructure

Charleston, W.Va., (August 20, 2025) – West Virginia American Water is pleased to announce a $180,000 infrastructure project on East 4th Street in Belle, continuing its infrastructure upgrades in community.

“Sound infrastructure is the foundation of safe, clean, and reliable water and wastewater service, and this $180,000 investment on East 4th Street reflects our ongoing commitment to that standard”, said Scott Wyman, President of West Virginia American Water. “We’re proud to continue investing in the Belle community and helping to ensure our systems are built to serve customers dependably.”

Work will take place on East 4th Street, from East Central Avenue to the end of East 4th Street. Crews will work Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., and traffic restrictions will be in place for the duration of the project. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of September, with the final street restoration completed in the fall of 2025.

This infrastructure upgrade project is part of West Virginia American Water’s plan to invest more than $112 million in infrastructure upgrades across the state in 2025, supporting the economic health of communities across the company’s service area. Economic impact studies show that for every $1 million invested in water infrastructure, upwards of 15 jobs are generated throughout local economies.

Over the past decade, West Virginia American Water has invested over $736 million in infrastructure projects and capital upgrades to address aging infrastructure across the Mountain State, including more than 168 miles of new water main. During construction, customers may experience temporary service interruptions, discolored water, and/or lower than normal water pressure.
